Physical Therapist Assistant
Laura first became familiar with Balanced Body Rehab as a patient and was so impressed and interested in the Balanced Body method of treating that she kept coming back to shadow and learn Josh's techniques, officially joining the Balanced Body Rehab team as a PTA in the Fall of 2019. Laura earned her Physical Therapist Assistant degree from St. Louis Community College - Meramec in 2018. While studying to become a PTA, Laura served as a peer mentor within STLCC's PTA program and received the Missouri Physical Therapy Association's 2018 Outstanding PTA Student Award.
Laura also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance from Southeast Missouri State University. When she is not working as a PTA, she is involved in various freelance dance projects which span from performing and choreographing contemporary/modern dance works to choreographing musical theatre productions. Laura's dance background makes it particularly exciting for her to treat dancers, allowing her to use her firsthand knowledge of the physical demands of dance in clinical practice. She has recently begun teaching outreach workshops in conjunction with local dance studios to provide dance-specific injury prevention education.
